Check, Please! started with a boy named Eric Bittle, a vlog channel, pies that materialized out of nowhere, and a play like no college hockey team has ever seen before—falling to fetal right on the ice at the thought of contact.
And somehow, that all turned into a thriving community of artists, authors, fans ranging from chill to downright feral, hockey butt enthusiasts, and more amazing people than one can count on a baker’s dozen of hands.
Check, Please! told the story of Eric Bittle from Day One on the men’s hockey team at Samwell University through to a triumphant graduation.
And we here at Zine, Please! were dying to know…what happened after?!?! And a lot of y'all had ideas. So. Many. Ideas.

ok on the subject of just bitty herself, i imagine she was basically her canon self her entire childhood and teen years (figure skating, baking, not vibing with football, etc etc) BUT her attraction to people is much different. girls are great, theyre gorgeous and all that jazz, but the thought of being their boyfriend leaves this horrible taste in her mouth. totally confused by it, plus hearing all the shit from her peers, she thinks she might be gay but it still feels Entirely Incorrect so she sort of just. ignores everything and plays along with whats expected of her
Being on this website is fun because you can absolutely tell when a blorbo clicks in someone’s brain. You’re scrolling, and suddenly out of nowhere there’s like 12 posts about the same character back to back reposted by the same person, and you just know “oh. They’re a permanent part of their psyche now.” and honestly it’s a vibe go off king
to those wondering, yes, my sister does genuinely ask me things like that regularly because we have so little in common that she downloaded a conversation starter app to keep me from just talking about eel phenoplasticity
i’m gonna get on my lil soapbox bc like, I see people start to check out when discussions of fentanyl testing or narcan administration come up, because they don’t use themselves and never plan to, or think that they don’t keep company with people who do.
i gotta say as an addict (years into sobriety with the occasional relapse), I’ve put a lot of people in positions that they never thought they’d be in without them knowing. your sister or your neighbor or someone walking down the street could be suffering from drug addiction and it’s not as obvious alot of the time as it looks in media. an overdose, especially with fentanyl, isn’t a dramatic shaking and foaming and plea for help with plenty of time to call an ambulance. you have to move fast.
Learning to spot signs of overdose and administration of life saving medication is not a secret, the information is readily available! if volunteering to work at a needle exchange or passing out fentanyl test strips is more than you can do, please just educate yourself. Here’s a few resources to help you do so:
bad bob is the type of famous person who wakes up one day at like age 57 and goes “i should write an autobiography” and alicia just tries to smother him with a pillow because it’s 3 am and he woke her up to share this revelation. the next morning he immediately starts writing it, only to realize he literally knows nothing about writing and has to take a step back and call an agent for help. jack doesn’t find out he’s writing one bc bob has forgotten to mention it to everyone he knows so he literally finds out through twitter with about half the hockey world, including all of bob’s famous retired friends who all send confused congratulations. he also announces that he’s going on a book tour with that ON TWITTER and immediately picks the weirdest set of cities to visit. after tweeting that, he immediately goes on a fishing trip and can’t be reached for about nine hours, as his phone is being blown up by everyone and everything. alicia thinks the entire affair is a comedy and encourages it
